Venue Spotlight: Blake Hall
As a wedding supplier for 17th century Blake Hall in Essex countless times in the past we can wholeheartedly recommend it as a wedding venue. Not only is it one of the most stunningly restored barn venues around but it’s run by a really friendly, approachable team. The team is headed up by the wonderful Austin who is great to have around on the day in charge of things.
The venue set up
Despite the venue’s proximity to great road links, the gardens and woodland remain entirely peaceful thanks to the site’s 60 acre setting. The grounds are a perfect combination of open space, immaculate gardens, a pond and picturesque buildings. Each of these areas lends itself to a particular moment in the timeline of a wedding day. The coach house provides space, comfort and a relaxed feel to your morning bridal preparations. It includes a large dedicated hair and make-up room that any bride would love.
Away from the barn areas is a tree swing. Normally it’s decorated with flowers creating a lovely photo and video opportunity. There are also well-kept, planted gardens and hedge rows to meander through. Again, all of these create fabulous background spots for your photos.
The pond sits to the back of the venue between the barns and provides a peaceful place for a moment of quiet reflection. Taking time out is something that’s often overlooked on a wedding day. The barns themselves provide all the coverage you need for a service and wedding breakfast. However, in good weather the saddlery provides a canopy to allow you and your guests to enjoy being outside. There’s even a church should you want a church wedding – just short walk away from the front of the venue and the final proof that Blake Hall really is the perfect place for your wedding.
There is plenty of car parking at the venue on site. There are no awkward long walks, which is helpful if the British weather is not at its best on your wedding day. The venue itself is situated just off Epping Road. Sat Nav the A414 at Chipping Ongar, between Chelmsford and the M11 motorway. Get the exact location from Google here.
